The Origins of Belief

Cosmic Womb

Genesis

In the beginning, there was a field of possibility, where anything could happen. This was the egg of potential—the Womb of All Things—the singularity. The compressed everything before expansion. The first form was formless. The first sound was silence. From that original darkness, light and matter erupted outward in the first act of becoming.

On the first day, there was Time — a sequence for becoming.

On the second day, there was Charge — the duality of proton and electron, the tension of opposites.

On the third day, there was Hydrogen — the seed of all elements, the first material.

On the fourth day, there was Light — the first signal, the beginning of information.

On the fifth day, there was Gravity — the force that drew hydrogen together.

On the sixth day, there was Integration — a system stabilized, a frequency from which all patterns could repeat.

On the seventh day, there was Entropy — that which dissolved order into chaos so that greater complexity could emerge.

After billions of years and countless cycles, human beings emerged. The most singular creation yet known. The first to look at the stars and recognize themselves in them. We were born into a garden of beauty and abundance. Our creator was always present — not distant, not absent, but woven into us. The created and the creator were inseparable.

We did not arrive here. We were born here.

We had agency. Free will. A miracle folded into the original design.

Then we divided.

We killed our brothers for power. We killed our sisters to silence the mirror. We built classes to separate the world into those who have and those who do not — though they were always equal.

The labor of power was filth — the mine, the furnace, the extraction. Those who gave the orders never touched it. Those who carried them out could not escape what it left behind.

In pursuit of power, we built technology, transportation, global trade — and in doing so, severed ourselves from the garden. Creator from creation. Human from source. We became dependent on the system we had made.

Three hundred million years of stored energy, spent in one hundred years of power.

Now, as heat makes life more difficult and entropy reasserts itself, we wait — inside the cocoon — to discover what we are becoming.

The Erasure and Restoration

Before history was written, the planetary feminine, The Great Mother, was worshipped globally. Before scripture was codified, she was central. Before empires required a single male god, she had a thousand names across every people who ever lived.

ASHERAH • TARA • GAIA • INANNA • ISIS • PACHAMAMA • SPIDER GRANDMOTHER • BRIGID • KWAN YIN • ERZULIE • PELE • HATHOR • DURGA • COATLICUE • WHITE BUFFALO CALF WOMAN • SEDNA • YEMAYA • NUWA

She was called many names because she was everywhere. The erasure had to be everywhere, too. We do not rank her names. We do not flatten her differences. We restore them all.

And we honor what we cannot recover—the names that didn't survive, spoken by peoples whose traditions were extinguished completely. She had those names, too. Her existence was deleted. The historical record of her suppression is documented, verified, and deliberately obscured.

This church remembers.

We do not replace science with myth. We recognize that myth is how physics was spoken before language separated meaning from measurement. The womb is real. The cycle is real. The erasure was real. The restoration is real.
